The programme looks at the long-term development of children. The "Fundamentals” section is delivered in P1-P4 at school through the Physical Education programme. It concentrates on basic motor skill development : agility, balance, co-ordination and speed. There is a new, fun introductory game called “firstclubgolf”. This is delivered in local schools through sportscotland's Active Schools' programme, as well as being offered at Kilwinning Sports Club. Firstclubgolf is played with modified plastic clubs and Velcro targets. Kilwinning Sports Club can now deliver Level 1 coaching programmes with their 5 PGA Level 1 Licensed Coaches. Level 1 is a 23-hour golf course that involves putting, chipping, pitching and full swing.

Children then move on to bunker play and more in-depth coaching. Kilwinning Sports Club has the facilities to take youngsters to a level where they can move to a local club and get a recognised handicap. The programmes run at Kilwinning Sports Club are supported and wholly endorsed by clubgolf and all its partners.
