Netball
Netball Coaching Course KSC ladies netball teams meet weekly for training and games. The teams are currently available for over 16's. At the moment KSC netball section have two ladies teams who take part in the Ayrshire league. There are over 20 members who train every Monday night from 7.30-9.30 in Irvine Royal Academy. The teams have been established for over 10 years, previously known as Irvine Netball Club but joined up with KSC over two years ago. Now both teams receive support from the club as well as using the gym/spin class etc when the school is shut. The club has an open door policy and new members are always encouraged. Recently 3 of the current players took part in a level 1 coach education course at Kilwinning Academy, with a view to starting a junior section/teams. There is a vibrant Primary school festival programme running in Kilwinning and the club is looking to harness that interest and provide a pathway for young players into KSC Netball section. The league is run through active schools and meets every month at St Michael's academy and Kilwinning academy. With the amount of girls currently playing through their schools the interest is there, so a KSC junior section is the next step forward for the netball section.
